    • Globalization It is widely recognized that globalization is an inevitable trend in the financial market, driven by the presence of multinational corporations and international banking. Therefore, the key approach to gaining a competitive edge is to improve one’s English proficiency and cultivate a global perspective.
    • Informatization

With the highly developed communication and network infrastructure, we can quickly access information from the financial market. Therefore, it is essential to teach students how to utilize digital software for the real-time analysis of financial information, as this skill is crucial for enhancing their capabilities.

    • Team spirit

The financial and economic issues are complex and constantly changing. It requires a team spirit and enhanced communication and cooperation skills to thoroughly solve the financial and economic problems. Therefore, the important courses in our department emphasize team-based project presentations, with the aim of fostering the importance of teamwork and communication among students.

    • Financial Expertise

Our professional courses are divided into two major fields, providing students with directions for their future career planning. With financial and economic certification exams, students acquire professional knowledge and skills to enhance their employability.

    • Holistics

Holistics education is the most important concept in the governance of Chung Yuan Christian University. The financial crises and scandals in recent years have repeatedly shown that besides professional knowledge, there must be a strengthening of character and spirit of business ethics. Therefore, in many required courses, the department emphasizes the concepts of ethics and character, and coordinates with the School of Business’s required course on business ethics, hoping to provide students with ethical education in addition to professional education.

  • Undergraduate

    • The minimum credits upon graduation are 128, including 91 required credits and 37 elective credits. And the required grade of at least 60 for all courses, in order to be eligible for graduation.
    • From the 101 academic years, undergraduate students are required to pass the English proficiency test recognized by the school to be eligible for graduation.
    • Students are required to take 2 EMI courses before graduation.Excluding English (I)&(II), English Listening and Speaking in Lab (I)&(II), Practical English (I)&(II) and Business School Business English Conversation (I)&(II), Skills for English Language Testing (except for ALLS students)

The courses at the Department of Finance can be divided into two modules for students to plan their future career.

-If any student is interested in any module, they should complete six courses, including introductory, advanced, and integrated courses within the same module (see the following chart) in order to receive the “Professional Program Certificate” issued by the Department of Finance at Chung Yuan Christian University upon graduation.”

  • Master Program

    • The minimum credits upon graduation are 34 (exclude thesis/dissertation), including 19 required credits and 13 elective credits and 2 credits from General Education. And the required grade of at least 60 for all courses, in order to be eligible for graduation.
    • English language requirement: total score of 750 of TOEIC or equivalent. Those who fail to meet the requirement should take additional English courses.
    •  From the academic year 2016, foreign graduate students are qualified to graduate with taking Mandarin courses and passing the TOCFL test.
